In Spring 2025, the Swiss National Science Foundation announced its support for our new four-year research initiative, Critical Conservation. This generous support will enable a team of scholars, researchers, and practitioners to engage with emerging trends in contemporary conservation while critically revisiting established domains, theorems, and paradigms.

Building on the significant outcomes of our previous collaborative and individual research, Critical Conservation sets out to rethink how conservation is approached, conceptualized, and practiced today.
